Jakarta International Youth Program (JIYP) 2025 – Apply Now!
Berlin and Jakarta started a sister city partnership in 1994 and have since cooperated closely in many fields. In the context of this partnership, the European Academy Berlin and the Senate Chancellery Berlin are excited to offer a special opportunity for young people from Berlin. We are inviting two motivated young adults (ages 18–30, fluent in English) from Berlin to apply for the Jakarta International Youth Program 2025 — a week-long exchange (4–9 August) hosted by the Jakarta Capital City Government. An unique opportunity to explore culture, sustainability, and youth diplomacy!
What is JIYP 2025?
The Jakarta International Youth Program (JIYP) is a week‑long exchange initiative hosted by the International Cooperation Division, Jakarta Capital City Government, taking place August 4–9, 2025. It brings together outstanding young adults from Jakarta, Indonesia, and Jakartas International partner cities—such as Berlin—for immersive discussions, cultural experiences, and activities centered on sustainability and youth collaboration.
JIYP is Jakarta’s flagship youth diplomacy program, running biennially to foster international relationships and youth leadership. Participants engage in structured workshops and site visits, gaining firsthand exposure to urban governance, environmental policy, and civic innovation. The program reinforces Berlin–Jakarta city ties—established in 1994—and reflects ongoing cooperation in areas like smart city development, cultural exchange, and innovation.
