Future of Democracy Lab – Shaping Tomorrow’s Democracy Together
What kind of democracy do you want to live in?
Climate, conflict, insecurity, the pressure of figuring life out — the young generation faces a future full of question marks, and it’s easy to feel like none of it is in your hands. The Future of Democracy Lab flips that.
Over five days in Berlin, 30 young people from Germany, France and Poland come together to explore where democracy is heading — and to shape it. Instead of just talking about the future, you’ll develop concrete ideas, meet people who actually shape decisions, and design your own vision for how democracy could work tomorrow.
What to expect
- Interactive workshops where you experiment, discuss and co-create — no lecture hall
- A visit to political institutions, including a discussion with political acteurs
- „Meet the Changemakers“ — encounters with civil society initiatives and European actors who turn ideas into impact
- A Future Workshop in which you develop and pitch your own project idea with your international team
- A Youthpass certificate documenting everything you’ve learned — useful for your CV, studies or next job
Who it’s for
This seminar is for anyone aged 18–24 who’s curious about democracy and up for the challenge — no prior experience, formal education or specific language skills required.
We especially encourage young people who face discrimination, voices that too often go unheard, and those who have never had the chance to take part in a project like this before. A fair future needs as many perspectives as possible — including yours.

- Participation: Free of charge — travel, accommodation and meals fully covered
How to apply
Applying takes just a few minutes — no motivation letter required. Only 10 spots per country, so don’t sit on it.
