Europe on Track – Our Future in Uncertain Times: How Much Europe Does the Young Generation Need?

Young people from Germany and the Czech Republic travel from Prague via Pardubice and Potsdam to Berlin to explore how European policies are experienced at the local level and develop creative ideas for the future of the EU. Europe on Track — a journey with the opportunity to shape Europe!

Mission on the Rails

A group of 20 young people from Germany and the Czech Republic travel through Europe — not just for sightseeing, but on a mission: to build a shared European future. During their eight-day journey from Prague via Pardubice and Potsdam to Berlin, the young adults meet with local youth organizations, citizens, and municipal actors. Drawing from these encounters and the valuable insights they receive through experiential fieldwork, they will develop concrete policy recommendations for the EU.

These recommendations will be officially presented and handed over to EU representatives at the European House in Berlin – aiming to bring these youth voices and ideas directly into the heart of European policymaking.

A Journey with Purpose

Europe on Track is more than a trip. Over eight days, participants travel together from Prague to Berlin, with day trips to Pardubice and Potsdam. Throughout the programme, they collaborate as a bilateral team to strengthen their democratic commitment, mutual understanding, and awareness of Europe.

From October 12 to 19, 2026, young people from Germany and the Czech Republic will travel together from Prague to Berlin, with day trips to Pardubice and Potsdam, to explore how European policies are experienced at the local level and develop creative ideas for the future of the EU. Participation is free of charge, and the programme will be conducted in English. All participants are required to attend the digital kick-off on September 24, 2026, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., and to take part in the entire programme.

Are you between 18 and 28 years old and interested in exploring what you want the future of Europe and the EU to look like? Then apply by September 6, 2026, using the form below! Places are limited, and we particularly encourage people with diverse backgrounds and experiences to apply. After the deadline, a diverse group will be selected from all applications received, and all applicants will be contacted. The “Europe on Track” project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and the European Union (Erasmus+) and organised by the European Academy Berlin in cooperation with Post Bellum from the Czech Republic.

Political engagement: In Berlin, their co-designed recommendations will be presented directly to EU representatives at the European House

Amplifying the Voices

On this journey, the group gains the skills and tools needed to return to their respective hometowns as active multipliers for European values, expanding the conversation across borders.
