Europe divided, Europe united. Nobody at EAB has experienced this more intensively than Margarete Neckerauer, EAB administrative manager and ‘finance minister’. Coming from warm ‘German Tuscany’ (in ordinary speak: the Palatinate), she escaped to ‘cool’ West Berlin as it was in the 70s and 80s – where life as typical for that time in a large flat sharing collective did not get in the way of rounding off her university studies by completing comprehensive professional training to be a chartered management accountant. Since 1999 she has stood for change, growth and economic stability in the Academy. And the wild times? She sings about them with a steady voice and great zest. Of course, as part of the choir at the TAZ newspaper.
