How can we ensure that urban spaces remain inclusive, accessible, and just in times of crisis?

Future Debates Berlin: Sustainable Spaces for All, organised as part of the ConnACT EU project, brings together representatives from civil society, municipalities, research, and community initiatives to explore how cities can become fairer and more resilient for everyone.

The event focuses on social justice and equal access to urban spaces, particularly for marginalised groups such as women*, BIPoC communities, Roma and Sinti, LGBTQI* people, migrants, and refugees. Through expert inputs and lived-experience perspectives, we will examine the barriers many communities face and identify pathways toward more inclusive urban development.

Participants can expect:

  • Inspiring keynote impulses from diverse voices
  • Interactive co-creation labs addressing key challenges
  • Practical discussions on gender and climate justice
  • Exchange on solidarity, participation, and community resilience
  • Networking with European partners and local stakeholders

The day is designed as a collaborative space for dialogue, reflection, and concrete next steps.

Together, we will develop ideas and approaches for creating sustainable spaces that truly serve all members of society.

Join us to rethink cities as places of equality, participation, and shared responsibility
