Future Festival Berlin : Sustainable Spaces for all

How can cities of the future be designed to be just, sustainable, and inclusive for everyone?
The Berlin Future Festival – Sustainable Spaces for All brings together young people, civil society actors, municipalities, and experts from across Europe to explore exactly this question.

As part of the European ConnACT project, festival creates an interactive space for exchange, inspiration, and concrete solutions around sustainable urban development, social justice, and democratic participation.

A strong focus lies on youth perspectives. During a creative workshop on the day before the festival, young participants develop their visions for the cities of tomorrow. These ideas are presented at the festival in a Youth Vision Panel and discussed with representatives from local government, policy-making, and civil society.

Participants can look forward to a diverse and dynamic programme including:

• interactive workshops on topics such as inclusive mobility, fair housing, green urban spaces, citizen participation, and climate justice,
• short inputs and project pitches from European cities and initiatives,
• plenty of space for networking, dialogue, and peer learning,
• creative and participatory formats such as graphic recording, open discussion circles, and a marketplace of ideas and initiatives.

The festival is not just a conference, but a living lab for future cities: practical, dialogue-oriented, and open to new perspectives. Its aim is to generate ideas, connections, and impulses that participants can take back to their local contexts and turn into action.

The Festival is open to everyone who wants to actively shape the cities of tomorrow – from young changemakers to experienced practitioners in administration, civil society, politics, and community initiatives.
