Dr. Elisabeth Botsch is a seminar director at the Academy, and as such is responsible for initiating and planning seminars and other meetings held at the Academy. Her points of main emphasis include EU enlargement, governance, civil society, gender equality and non-discrimination. She works also as expert and appraiser in the SEN anti-discrimination network advising the European Commission. In addition she lectures at the Berlin School of Economics and Law / Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin. She headed the Federal Office in the Deutscher Frauenring e.V. DFR (Association of German Women) until 2012.

Dr. Botsch read history and politics at Freiburg University, at the Free University of Berlin and at the Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne University. For nine years she was desk officer in the Paris branch office of the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation, and lectured at the School for Political Sciences in Paris (‘Sciences Po’). In Berlin she was, amongst other positions, responsible for press and public affairs at the Embassy of Morocco and directed research projects at FIA, a research group concerning the international labour market.
